Audition for The Gallery Theatre

Community casting calls for productions are held approximately ten to eight weeks before performances dates for that production and are open to the public.  No prior experience is required.

Cast calls for The Fantasticks will be held in February 2012 on dates to be announced.  Please review the casting requirements for this production.

Cast type:  Ensemble cast-Many featured roles, mainly men, older role(s), star vehicle-female, star vehicle-male, teenage roles.  Dance requirement:  none for some, minimal for others.  Casting size:  7 men, 1 woman.  Character breakdown:  THE ACTOR (Henry) an aging over-the-top thespian, non-singing.  THE BOY (Matt) an innocent young man; A-High G baritone/tenor.  THE BOY’S FATHER (Hucklebee) a former navy man, meticulous gardener; A-High F Sharp baritone.  THE GIRL (a romantic idealist; B-High B soprano.  THE GIRL’S FATHER (Bellomy) a merchant, also a picky gardener; A-High F Sharp baritone.  THE MAN WHO DIES (Mortimer) Henry’s goofy sidekick; non-singing.  THE MUTE a speechless presence who watches, acts as the wall, and so on.  Male or female non-singing.  THE NARRATOR (El Gallo) a rakish, handsome gallant; A flat-High G baritone.
